Oil pumps are often used in daily production, and many places require oil pumps. However, there are some things we must pay attention to when using oil pumps, in order to ensure their normal operation, maximum efficiency, and longest service life.
What are the taboos when using oil pumps? From the perspective of oil pump maintenance and upkeep, we first need to discuss the following points.
1、 During use, it is strictly prohibited to add diesel oil to gear oil for dilution, or bake the rear axle and transmission due to the impact on winter starting, so as to avoid serious deterioration of gear oil. If this happens, the low-viscosity multistage gear oil should be used.
2、 Do not confuse the classification labels of oil and oil pumps. In order to avoid confusion in the calculation standard, it is specified that the higher grade mark is used for gear oil, and the lower grade mark is used for engine lubricating oil. However, the grade of old gear oil is lower. It should be noted that the viscosity grade of gear oil and engine oil is not related, and the same model cannot be used mutually. Gear oil must not be used as engine oil, or serious accidents such as bush burning, cylinder sticking and piston crown sintering will occur to the engine.
3、 Reasonable use of oil pumps is beneficial for gear maintenance and repair. Gear oil has a long service life. If single grade oil is used, different viscosity grades should be used during seasonal maintenance. If the discharged old oil does not reach the oil change deadline, it can be used in the vehicle when changing the oil again. Old oil should be properly stored and strictly protected from moisture, mechanical impurities, and waste oil pollution.
4、 Change the oil in a timely manner. The oil should be replaced with new oil according to the specified oil change indicators. If there is no oil quality analysis method, the oil can be changed according to the specified deadline. The recommended oil change period for automobile manufacturers is 30000-48000km. When changing the oil, the old oil should be drained while it is hot, and the gear and gearbox should be cleaned before adding new oil. When refueling, water and impurities should be prevented from mixing in.
5、 The amount of fuel added should be appropriate. The amount of oil should be appropriate, not too much or too little. Too much not only increases oil stirring resistance and fuel consumption, but also may cause brake failure due to gear oil mixing into the brake drum through the rear axle housing (if the sealing is poor); Insufficient lubrication can lead to poor lubrication, high temperature, accelerated gear wear, and adverse effects on gear maintenance. Generally, the gear oil surface should be filled to the level with the lower edge of the gearbox oil filler, and each gear oil tank should be regularly checked for leakage, and each oil seal and gasket should be kept intact.
